This is a great second chance romance and a great ending to this series!!! Truly down on her luck, Gwen doesn’t call ahead to let her sister Cherie know Gwen and her daughter Westlyn are coming to stay awhile because Gwen knows Cherie would say no. But even nasty Cherie won’t turn away her niece at the door!! Gwen and Spencer meet by chance at Cherie’s antiseptic-looking apartment. Spencer is all for including Gwen in their evening plans despite both Cherie’s and Gwen’s refusals. From the get-go Spencer is ready to help Gwen find a Social Work position. He’s determined to get back his first love, Gwen. His hot pursuit of her should leave no doubt in Gwen’s mind. But what was he doing with Cherie? She’s a mean, vindictive woman. Read the book to see how this plays out!

Disclaimer - I LOVE the Puck Battle Series lol. I am so fortunate to be a part of Kristen's ARC team so I received one for an honest review. YAY ME! Hockey Ring did not disappoint. I was really sad to hear this would be the final book in the series, so I started reading it on a bit of a down note, but of course, as Kristen's books always do, my mood quickly turned around. This second chance romance story of Gwen and Spencer was a fabulous way to tie up the series (if this is indeed the final one....hint hint). Gwen arrives as a single mom to her younger snobbish sister Cherie who immediately seems like a nasty and jealous person, but gets the surprise of her life when she runs into her old love Spencer. THere is instant sizzle between the two, but is there anything going on between Spencer and her sister? Can she afford to alienate her sister even more if there is and she continues to pursue an attraction? I won't spoil anything, but I was very happy with the end. I would be even happier if there was more of this series!!! Definitely read this book and Kristen's series!!!!

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader copy of this book. This was such a great story and the last one in the series which to me is really sad, really want more. However, Gwen is so down on her luck she shows up at her sister, Cherie's home hoping she will let her and her daughter Westlyn stay with her until she can figure out what to do next. Her sister is going out and little did Gwen know it was with her ex from her high school days, Spencer, when she saw him all of the feelings came flooding back and Spencer looked at Gwen hard and neither one knew what to say, would she run away, would he leave immediately and not speak to her, what would happen between them and could it be great again????

This series has been awesome! I love that each story is not only a love story, but always had a sub plot with it. I'm excited that Gwen's daughter played a major roll in finally finished the story with Rex and getting him of the street. This one is a second chance romance, and I loved the story of Spencer and Gwen. Her sister, I think I could have done without. She was a hateful little woman for most of the book, but I glad the sisters are now closer. Did i get a hint for a new story for Wes and the new hockey pick? If so, I'm definitely looking forward to it. I'm sad to see this series end. I just love it and the writers other books so much! Voluntary review of an advanced reader's copy

Fabulous second chance story and wonderful ending to the series. I’m sorry to leave the Puck Battle series. I’ve enjoyed all the books and this one allowed us to visit all the other couples and to finally give Spencer his HEA.It’s been more than 20 years since they fell in love. Now Gwen is back and he’s not letting her go. Great characters. You’ll cheer them on, hoping they can pull it all together. There was a real story in both of their lives and in spite of a lot of obstacles their first love has only grown. I could have slapped Cherie, I knew what she was up to but it all settles down in the end. Maybe Wes can star in another series?

I can't say enough good things about this book and the entire Puck Battle series of books. Gwen and Spencer had a relationship over 20 years ago that ended due to a misunderstanding. Gwen and her daughter come back into town when she is down on her luck and she reconnects with Spencer. Things did not go smoothly but they end up with their HEA. I loved the end of the story and epilogue when characters from other books in the series reappear and you see how their relationships have grown. I would love to see more books in this series and admit I absolutely love all of these hockey romances. I am looking forward to the next Kristen Echo romance, I love all her books!!I received an advance copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving a review.

What a great ending to this series!!! I'm so sad it's over!!! Gwen and Spencer are a great second chance romance read! Spencer is hot and determined to get back his first love, even before Gwen drops in on her bitter, younger sister. Down on her luck puts it mildly when she returns to Winnipeg with her daughter to try to rebuild. Cherie is anything but receptive and chastises Gwen at every opportunity. Spencer is quick to help her and help himself to her. Hot sexy wild ride especially for us 40+ who don't see a lot of relatable characters. You forget that Spencer is older by his sex appeal and lustful pursuit of Gwen. Hate to see this series end!!!

A second chance is all she’s looking for. Life has been rough for Gwen, she’s lost nearly everything & is now looking to turn her life around & mend fences with her sister. Spencer has never forgotten the one who got away, but now that Gwen is back he’s not letting her go. Swift moving & sexy this story brings a smile to your face because Gwen actually deserved some happiness. The tie up of all the stories with the 2nd storyline running through was great, I actually enjoyed how it ended. This story was the perfect finish to a really good series. Definitely recommend it all.

"Blabber Blabber Blabber Blabber: Volume One of Everything" is a simply stunning book from one of America's most brilliantly unique and visually distinctive alternative comic artists. This book chronicles Barry's difficult and transformative early years struggling with problems at home and finding a release in comics. Long before Marlys, there were "Two Sisters," "Girls and Boys," and "Ernie Pook's Comeek" plus much, much more.I reveled in Lynda's early work, and found her one-off comics to be among my favorites. I was particularly entertained by the skewering of the then-popular "you might be an artist" advertisements on p. 14 ("You may have hidden artistic talent!") and especially the humor test I chose for my title (P. 15.) Lynda's peculiar style, her constantly changing use of fonts and spellings, and dabbling with surrealism (see especially the dueling cacti on p. 17) make for a great read. I've always thought of Lynda as a kindred spirit, and anyone from any age can find something to delight in here.This book really takes me back in time, and I couldn't have enjoyed it more. Lynda, sincere thanks to you! Now can you get the next collection out please? I can't wait!

The first in a series of way-highly anticipated volumes that will collect Lynda Barry's entire comics oeuvre, Blabber Blabber Blabber starts at the very beginning (well, Duh), with Barry's unique, sometimes eccentric, often enthralling use of language already in evidence. Her funkily expressionistic, often raw drawings display a seemingly tossed-off skill and employ far more formalistic techniques and experiments than I'd remembered from back in the mid-80's when I used to read and reread her first book, Girls and Boys (collected here in its entirety) over and over. Very cool also to have a look at the full-year run of her never-collected-before comic strip "Two Sisters" from an early 80's paper in Seattle - it's really interesting work, often quite funny, with a wonderfully surreal bent. Barry's introduction and notes throughout tie these, her earliest comics, in with the work she is doing today, not only placing it all in context but demonstrating the trajectory of an artist's career - that in the end it is all of a piece. D&Q did a wonderful job producing this handsome keepsake volume. I eagerly await the next couple in the series, especially as my copies of her great 2nd and 3rd collections, Big Ideas & Everything in the World, are falling apart.

Lynda Barry had a troubled youth: her parents divorced when she was twelve; she did drugs, found herself at loose ends. Then at sixteen, she got her act together. The intervening hard knocks inform her work and provide perspective and bite. One can imagine her as a seventeen year-old in a Trailways Bus Depot sizing up the other passengers and nailing them with her acerbic drawings. She hits dead center nearly every time. Following her auspicious start on her college newspaper, Barry became one of the leading comic strip artists in what we have come to call the alternative comics scene.The term is established, but it is not a good fit for her work. The term comes from the fact that her strips were published in the newsweeklies that sprung up around the country as alternatives to the mainline consumer newspapers, the papers that carried Donald Duck, Dick Tracey and Little Orphan Annie. In truth, those comic strips, which are all highly fanciful in their way, portrayed worlds that were far less real than the one Lynda Barry conjured up week after week.She dealt with life as it unfolds for those for whom life makes no sense, often from the view point of young girls as she did in her "Two Sisters" strip which is included in this volume. These are characters who would change place with Annie in a Seattle second.Lynda Barry stepped away from drawing her comic strips in 2008 as the alternative newsweekly market shrank to the vanishing point. Now she spends a good deal of her time teaching others how to do what she did, how to write, to draw, to tell their stories. She is very good at it. Her workshops are filled with men and women, old and young and in between, who swear by her. "Blabber" is the cornerstone of a publishing venture which will, when it is finished nine volumes from now, provide a comprehensive retrospective of Barry's work. What a gift. Future historians who attempt to write a social history of the U.S. in the late 20th, and early 21st Centuries without consulting this archive will do so at their peril. End note. Lynda Barry made a fan of me when I came across a copy of her 1994 coloring book, "Naked Ladies Naked Ladies Naked Ladies Naked Ladies." It contains 56 unique images which, together, comprise a deck of cards with four jokers. It convinced me that Barry intended to show her readers what it's really like out there. Such a wonderful introduction into Lutheran Christianity. Very easy to read and understand. A real pleasure to look at all the pictures and notes and explanations. I have enjoyed it immensely.

Beautiful book. I purchased one for myself and one for each of my three sons.

As a child, my mother will instruct in the ways as she had learnt from her Lutheran faith. This book gives me a better scriptural understanding on certain things that I wasn’t as sure about. Even though I identify as an Anglican/ Episcopalian in my adulthood, I know Martin Luther influence on the world will always be enduring.

Really well written in accurate but readable and approachable form.

Great book, easy to read and understand! Helped me to review my Luther's Small Catechism.

Sorry, Amazon, got my copy at church for weekly Bible Study group. My only regret is that the type is quite small for us older people. I prefer to read on my computer so I can enlarge the type.

Purchased this for my daughter. She was suppose to receive an access code (required by professor) to use the InQuizitive app. Product page reads "and the option to include free access to InQuizitive for Writers, which provides practice in editing the same errors." There is NO option to select this. She has already removed shrink wrap, so according to sticker she cannot return it. No place to plug in receipt info at InQ. Have contacted InQ site to remedy the issue. It costs $15 to sign up, not much, but cryptic information on product page. Will update my review once I learn any details. See update below.

Didn’t get the access code that was suppose to come with the book.

The product details state "The third edition adds a new section on editing the errors that matter―and the option to include free access to InQuizitive for Writers, which provides practice in editing the same errors.” but nowhere in the book or on Amazon was there the option to include the free access to InQuizitive. It’s only $15 to purchase but annoying when the book makes it seem like it’s going to be included. Kinda feel like I’ve been ripped off because of that. The book is necessary for a couple of classes but after a quick glance looks like it will be a really useful book for me.
